Antimicrobial Compounds from Alnus Rubra

چکیده

The methanol extract of the bark of Ahus rubra showed antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive and Gramnegative bacteria. Diarylheptanoid and its glycoside (oregonin) were identijied as the two constituents responsible for this activity.

The Anthelmintic activity of petroleum ether, methanol and chloroform extract of rhizomes of Nymphaea rubra Linn were evaluated separately and the activities were compared with that of Albendazole.
